Your perishable items are shipped Monday-Thursday. We suggest that someone is available at the delivery location when the order arrives so the perishable items can be placed in the refrigerator or freezer. Make sure the perishable items, if they are meat, are below 40 degrees fahrenheit when received.
Due to the extreme cost of shipping we only free shipping on orders over $249 in value to these states: ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, NY, PA, CT, DE, MD, VA, WV, OH, MI, IN, KY, NC, IL, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, AR, MO, KS, IA, MN, WI.
If you live in the following states it takes two days from leaving our store to get to you: PA, OH, IL, IN, MI, Parts of PA, MD, VA, SC, NC, WV, KY, Parts of NY, Parts of MO, Parts of ME.
One day with ground shipping: NJ, CT, Parts of NY, Parts of PA, DE, RI, MA, NH, VT, Parts of Maine
Three days with ground shipping: FL, AL, MS, TN, AR, Parts of IL, Parts of MO, KS, IA, MN, WI
We currently offer our shipping services to the following states: AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IA, IN,KS, KY, ME, CT, DE, DC, CA, MD, MA, MI,MN, MS, NH, NJ, NY,NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA, WV, WI.
It takes 2-4 business day to process and ship your order. The delivery clock starts once the package is picked up by the delivery service, not once you submit your order. Orders to 3-day shipping zones from Connecticut ship on Monday and Tuesday to ensure product viability. These states are as follows; FL, GA, AL, MS, TN, AR, MO, IA, WI, MN, NE, ID, ND, SD, KS, OK, LA, TX, NM, CO, WY, MT, AZ, UT, WA, CA, NV, OR and parts of IL. Those 3-day zone orders will ship same week if the order is placed before 12:pm EST that Tuesday. Shipping method selected at checkout only applies to time in transit. If your order is listed as 'processing' on your tracking page, the shipping label has not been printed. Our fulfillment team holds certain orders to ensure and maintain product viability. Your tracking will show movement and update automatically once your package is in our carrier's possession. Please note, processing times may be extended during the holiday season. Orders placed after 5:30pm are not considered in process until the following day, as UPS pick ups occur daily at 5:30pm (expect Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
If UPS indicates that the package has been dropped off to the address provided by the customer neither UPS nor Battimelli's A&S Italian Fine Foods are responsible for the package. UPS indicates the package has been delivered by scanning the package at the delivery zone. We understand that unfortunately some packages do get stolen. Thus, we are not responsible for any packages left outside your door.
To ensure quality standards, all of our perishables are packed in insulated, heat-resistant packaging with Dry Ice. All products are placed in the shippers fresh, but may freeze from the extreme cold of the dry ice. If you should also order dry goods, we neatly pack them separately. Note: In winter months, we may not cold-pack some of our aged/cured cheeses and meats depending on the destination.
Because our gift boxes are specially crafted to fit not only a certain theme, but the area of the packing materials, it would be detrimental to the integrity of the product as a whole to allow additions or substitutions. Certain products in our gift boxes are seasonal and are sometimes not available. In these cases we will substitute a comparable product of equal quality.
There are usually two reasons your credit card won’t be accepted upon checkout:
1. If you receive a Gateway Error when ordering, your credit card has been declined by the credit card provider. Please contact your provider to correct any issues.
2. If you receive an AVS Mismatch message when ordering it means that the billing address you entered does not match the address listed with the credit card provider. Simply enter the correct billing address to proceed with your order.
The meat should be cool to the touch when it arrives. If meat is above 40 degrees Fahrenheit please discard the product. It is okay if the gel packs are not frozen, as long as they are still cold. If your order was packed with Dry Ice the product is good to go!
Always order to receive meat at least a full 4 days in advance. Be mindful that we only ship Perishables on Monday and Tuesday. Transit delays and mistakes on our end are very rare, but they do happen. If you choose an early delivery date, then it gives us a chance to recover.
Beef is graded based solely on fat content. Prime beef contains the most intermuscular fat, in addition to fat surrounding muscle groups. Prime beef represents less than 3% of all beef produced. This is the most highly sought after grade of beef because fat is flavor.
Leaner beef is going to be lower graded beef. We sell only prime (see above) and some high choice in our online store.

If you purchase fresh Items your product will arrive fresh or partially frozen, depending on the distance shipped and current climate. Our goal is to provide quality products that are delivered to your door in a timely manner with the utmost accuracy to your order. We have recently started shipping with Dry Ice. We pack the products fresh, but may arrive frozen due to the dry ice.
YES! We do carry gluten-free products. All products that are gluten free will be specified in their product descriptions.
